AI systems often fail to represent marginalized groups because they are trained on unrepresentative data. This bias leads to decisions that exclude diverse communities. Our first wave of communication speaks directly to the community, emphasizing the importance of our participation in shaping AI. As the World Economic Forum reminds us, ‘technologies are not neutral; they are only as good, or bad, as the people who develop them.’ It’s up to us to guide AI and ensure it reflects our stories and truths.”
